I am a tunnel person. I spend hours traveling by train. Hours that disintegrate into moments- snapshots through a window: the landscape, the passenger, the window itself.
The landscape is engaging but so fleeting that a snapshot is all that can be captured.
This landscape exists in another dimension with no entry, no exit. The passenger is a concept, never touching. I see only parts of them: an eye, a hand, an arm. On the platform, their bodies blur together in a well-choreographed dance of approach and disembarkation.
I am intrigued by the randomness of the view as it intersects with the instant of the shutter release. Each time I press the shutter, I am never quite sure of the result. This is photography at up to 100 mph.
